Dear friends,
In June, we let warm weather into our lives and for many of us, the warmest energy emerges from the fathers and father figures in our lives. This weekend we celebrate those very important men– I have two who matter most to me.
My “Papa”, whose heavenly voice I hear in my head during key moments of uncertainty. He was my chief cheerleader. Though soft-spoken, he always told me with gusto: “Gitika is NOT mediocre.” I believed it and made it true.
You know the saying that girls end up marrying men like their fathers. Well, I’m here with my hand raised. Sadly, my father never had the opportunity to meet my husband, but I suspect they would have gotten on well. They would have enjoyed a slower pace together, listened to music that moves them, shared a medium rare steak and scotch on the rocks. But the similarities go beyond hobbies and more into their characters – neither the most sociable in the room, but both exhibit a deep care for the core people in their lives– that select group that is lucky enough to be in their inner circle forever have their loyalty, commitment and just-a-phone-call-away kind of support.
It’s a concept aligned with what I tell my clients when we close a sale. This is not the end– in fact, it is only the beginning of our relationship, I say. Now you are part of the family and my commitment and support continues into eternity. I love it when past clients reach out with the question, seek advice or just want to say hello. Though our communication is constant through a transaction, when it ends, I need them to know they are now forever in my inner circle, will always have my deep care and I will always be loyal to their needs – just as my Papa (and husband) would have wanted.
Yours,
Gitika
